The Himes Studio has made a huge impact on my family. Although both of my girls grew up singing in church, in high school they wanted to grow vocally while participating in the theatre department. Not only did Mrs. Himes stretch them and push them in the best of ways, she challenged them in all areas and provided the pep talks along the way, assuring them they could rise to the challenge. They have learned amazing skills and life lessons to carry them into adulthood and beyond. Himes provides the “package deal”...not just singing skills and techniques. I highly recommend!

Being in the Himes studio for 5 years taught me so many incredible life lessons, and ultimately inspired me to pursue my dreams and study music in college. She has helped me immensely with my self-confidence and performance anxiety with her wonderful (and funny) methods. I never would've imagined how much my voice has matured these past 5 years. From being a shy 8th grader unable to use my upper register, to a rising college freshman studying opera performance, my growth is largely due to her amazing work. Whether it was balancing performances with vocal health, or sorting out the college audition process, she has been such an amazing resource and person to help guide me through it all. She has also helped me achieve my biggest goal in high school; making the Texas All State Choir. Another thing I really admire about Mrs. Himes is the connectivity she strives with each of her students. I always felt like I could go to her for questions and I would always be met with a smile. I really felt like she cared about me and her students, and always made sure they felt comfortable and safe. Mrs. Himes has truly set the foundation I need to succeed, and has prepared me for the future that awaits!

Kelly Himes is a wonderful voice teacher to collaborate with and always has her students' best interests in mind.
